Modes Of Transportation From Heathrow To Gatwick

Oct 22nd, 2010 Posted in travel | no comment »

To cover the distance of approximately 40 miles from Heathrow to Gatwick, it takes about two hours depending on the type of transportation used. There are a lot of possibilities that you can avail at present. They are namely as follows a taxi service, by train, and a coach.

If you are in a group of four then the best option for you would be a private service or taxi. This cab will charge you up to 70 pounds. However, if the vehicle is bigger and can accommodate more people then you will most certainly be charged higher. This service will cover the distance in a matter of an hour depending on the traffic congestion in the city. The taxis are lined up outside Heathrow, all you have to do is walk up to them and find a reasonable taxi and board.

The coaches are more expensive then the cabs. You will find yourself losing a 100 pounds for five people who do not even have room for their feet. This coach will help you go from Heathrow to Gatwick in a matter of one and a half hour. Again, this number is susceptible to traffic. These coaches are found in abundance at terminals 1, 2 and 3. They will stop for some time at terminal 5 on its way to Gatwick.

The train, an exciting mode of transfer between the two destinations, will have you reach terminal four. On reaching the terminal catch the Heathrow Connect train which is running to and fro from the airports in every fifteen minutes. This shall have you reach Gatwick in a matter of forty-five minutes.

The costs are higher since there is no other medium that people can avail. Hence they have a monopoly over the transfers. Prices tend to go higher as the number of people increase or as the size of vehicle gets bigger. But, travelling for children at ages eleven and below is also free of cost.

Try to avoid any mode of transportation during business hours in the city, the traffic is at its worst. Each mode has certain luggage regulations such as a coach has allowed two suit cases and a bag and absolutely no pets allowed on board.

Heathrow to Gatwick traveling stress has minimized a lot over recent times, however, you will still need to pay a reasonable amount to travel between the two.

Plenty of areas exist on the beach where you can place your blanket and bathe in the sun. Or, you can hop in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy the waves. Found amongst the beaches are precipitous cliffs that carve out grottoes from the ocean and provide a truly unique swimming experience. Nearly 20 golf courses lie in the Algarve, awaiting their next challenger. Many have blended the orange groves, waterfronts, and other natural features of the Algarve landscape with rigorous designs in order to test the skills of those who travel down the fairways. Oceanico Faldo is a course that Nick Faldo, winner of three Masters and three Open Championships, has designed and attached his name to. Want To Book Your Vacations Utilizing Time Savings And Have Fun With The Family

If your like me, you need a vacation too! I have been working a lot lately and am getting burned out. My problem was, where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do was more than I could afford. Fortunately, I ran into a friend, and he told me about this really cool travel club he had just joined.

Let me just tell you, what I found has got to be the best travel and vacation gig going. Really. You know how Sam’s club works, right? I recently joined a travel club that works the same way. (no relationship to Sam’s) They bulk buy their trips and then offer them to all their members at the same cost without any markup. Pretty simple idea that has great benefits for it’s members, just like Sam’s club does.

We always wanted to take a cruise on the ocean. My friend told me to sit down and take a look at the cruises the club had to offer. It was a good thing he had me sit down because, he showed me a $49 five day cruise. At first I thought it was a joke but it was true. Apparently, the club has one of these about every quarter of the year. Nice!

After leaving my friends home and upon my return home, I went back to the club’s web site and looked around some more. I was quite surprised by all the different kinds of trips and vacations available. I found all-inclusives under $200. They even have trips to pro baseball, basketball, Super Bowl, nascar, the Indy 500, hunting and a whole lot more.

The simplicity of booking a trip is nice. Once we joined, all we had to do was find a get-a-way we wanted to go on and click and go. No strings attached. The club sends you all the detail of the itinerary before the trip departure date. Something that surprised me was the transfers to and from the airports while on the trip are covered in most cases. That adds up too. Check out some of the latest trips here: http://mail.rovianews.com/DT_Emails/DT_Special_082610_web.html

I am hoping you take the time to poke around the website too. I have told all of my friends and not one of them has had one bad thing to say. In fact, I have gone on a number of trips with my friends. At these prices, anyone can afford to go. Share it with your friends. Make their day and you will be the envy of everyone. ;-)

Last Minute Deals Want to go on an all-inclusive vacation? Wanted… Someone who want to enjoy the best for less…a lot less! Really, click here ONLY if you Really want to save and have fun.

Great Vacations At Home

Sep 2nd, 2010 Posted in travel | no comment »

Many of us look forward to our vacations so we can relax and enjoy time with the family. In days past, many of us traveled to enjoy our time off, but with the state of the economy, it’s so costly that it may not be feasible anymore. Why not consider a staycation instead of going on vacation?

You might actually enjoy the process of renovating your home, preferring to do improvements instead of hiring professionals. Since you’ve got a week off from work, why not take one room and work on changing it into something bold and new. There are so many options to explore, including painting it a vibrant color with accent trim, shining up light fixtures and fans, and moving furniture around.

Make it a day of culture by visiting museums, libraries, and local art galleries. Tour historic sites in your area and read up on what your city or state is famous for. If you’re in New Jersey, look into why it’s called the “Garden State.” For Missouri, check out why your state is called the “Show me State.” There’s always a story worth hearing, so make a day of it and get an education in the process.

During your week off, at least one day should be considered total “you-time.” Get self-indulgent for once and hit a day spa, and while you’re there, get a manicure and pedicure. Since you’re off the clock, how about a nice deep-tissue massage to really relax you? Consider getting your hair done in a totally new style, perhaps even changing the color. A bold gesture, if you’re up for it, is to try out a henna tattoo.

Set a theme to be followed on each night of your week off. ‘Picture day” would entail seeing a movie at the theatre, complete with popcorn and candy, then a rented movie for later that night. Before the day is over, get out your digital camera and capture that beautiful sunset. “Animal day” could start off with a visit to the zoo, then a night of watching animal shows on t.v. “Sports day” could be a day of throwing the football around with your kids, then renting “Rudy” to watch later on.

Check the local weather forecast and, if it’s going to be a nice day, get outside and get physical. Consider hiking, which will get you out into nature and will get your blood pumping, or camping out under the stars. Try to gather a group of friends who will camp out with you without the technological gadgets we’ve all come to rely on so you can be in touch with nature and each other while enjoying a night under the stars.

So don’t let a lack of funds stop you from having a great time during your vacation. There’s always a way to find interesting and exciting places in your town without spending a fortune. With a little bit of ingenuity and a willing spirit, you can find fun wherever you go, and enjoy a staycation instead.
