Hot Jewelry in the World of Drop Earrings

Dec 22nd, 2009 Posted in style | no comment »

I’ve always been a huge lover of drop earrings since they came out. They’re somewhat unconventional compared to other jewelry, but that’s what I love about them. I also really like the fact that they’re versatile.

I’d like to take a little time to discuss some sets of drop earrings that look to be in style for this upcoming winter season. There are so many pairs available as this jewelry style is seemingly as popular as it’s ever been.

Celebrities love these and I have a feeling that this jewelry style will continue to evolve, with new pairs springing up regularly. I’m really happy to see that many new fashion designers are entering the game as well.

If you’re looking for some great drop earring ideas for the holiday season or simply for the love of fashion, here are some pairs that could be of interest to you. Hopefully you’ll like at least one of these styles.

I’m a big fan of the Just Cavalli line of jewelry, and their earrings look great. One pair that stands out to me is their Boule Amethyst Cubic Zirconia drop earrings, which sell for $250 but look truly beautiful. The purple looks great with the brass chain, and the charm in one earring is adorable.

Another pair, and possibly one of the nicest ones I’ve ever seen, is offered by Tiffany. Keep in mind that few people will ever be able to afford these, myself included. They’re beautiful nonetheless. This is a pair of earrings selling for $40,000 and they’re Tiffany’s teardrop earrings.

Now we obviously can’t afford these, but the takeaway here is the high likelihood that many designers will emulate the teardrop look and feel, offering up much more affordable sets on their own. Look for the teardrop style to gain momentum in 2010.

One more pair that I’d like to discuss is David Yurman’s onyx earrings. These are the most affordable of the bunch, at $70. They look great and these are definitely worth a look.

Fake Handbags Versus Designer Handbags

Dec 21st, 2009 Posted in style | no comment »

Our current fashion trends place designer purses and designer handbags as integral parts of a woman’s ensemble, as important as every other accoutrement. Wallets, purses and designer handbags absolutely complete your outfit and allow you countless possibilities for mixing and matching to accent everything beautifully.

However, designer handbags, purses and wallets can be extremely expensive, and so there is an entire industry devoted to faux designer handbags and purses. The manufacturers of faux designer handbags and purses have gotten so good at their work that it can be very hard to tell the real ones from the fake ones.

Therefore, unless you truly are not concerned about the price you pay for a designer handbag or purse, you can substitute an original bag with a faux bag. Just as clothing companies are mimicking fashion designers and people are able to save money by buying “generic”, the same is true of handbags and purses. Indeed, the designer handbag and purse manufacturers are charging such outrageous prices for their products that they are actually driving the faux designer handbag business. The fashion world will be extremely unhappy with what I am saying, but when you consider the incredibly high pricing they place on their bags, it is no wonder that so many businesses have been created with the intention of creating faux designer handbags.

Of course, it’s just fine to charge money for an unique item, but you also need to accept that this attitude can generate this secondary market eager to grab some of the action also. Your item can be duplicated and offered at a less expensive cost, and it’s not that hard to do. While patent and copyright laws are maintained, it’s only common sense to rebel against the unreasonable prices that some designers charge for their merchandise.

And once you understand these driving factors, you begin to see that to attempt to eliminate the secondary market of faux designer handbags and purses is a lost cause. The two markets actually drive each other, where supply and demand is being driven by cost and desire.

In my experience, I am not looking at the value of a handbag or purse as much as I am looking at the style and color of the purse or handbag. If it complements and completes the outfit, then it’s the way to go and I’m not too concerned about whether it’s the real thing or knock-off.

Genuine or faux, when it comes to designer handbags and purses, people will have deeply divided opinions, and only you can determine what works best for your fashion needs.

The Growth of Slip on Sneakers

Dec 12th, 2009 Posted in style | no comment »

It seems like the variety of slip on sneakers available for purchase is widening by the year. With new patterns and styles offered by a growing number of companies, the selection of these shoes becomes larger and all the more appealing.

The charge was led by Vans, as the classic Vans slip on sneaker really popularized the style. Since then, many apparel makers have jumped onto the bandwagon and it seems like the trend is still picking up steam.

With any trend comes a wider variety of options, and this has been a great thing for any fan of this shoe style. Not only will you find the ones that go with skater gear, but you’ll find slip-ons that look great with just about any outfit. Even Burberry has a slip on sneaker being offered for sale now.

The reasons for the appeal to slip-on sneakers should be obvious anyway. They’re very easy to put on and take off, and they’re extremely comfortable too. When you combine the comfort and convenience with the fact that they can look good, this adds up to a winning formula.

Due to the wide range of styles and patterns available, slip-on shoes can be worn with almost anything short of formal wear. Some of them even even go well with shorts.

If you’re looking to buy a pair of these shoes, I’d suggest doing your shopping online. It’s true that you’ll find a bunch of different styles if you look locally, but the variety is much wider if you look online.

There are so many online retailers of sneakers to the point that you may even be overwhelmed when shopping for your slip-on sneakers. Just about every major shoe company has a slip on sneaker for sale. Some of my favorites are made by Converse and New Balance, but you’ll see many more brands than just these two.

You’ll find that they’re really affordable too, and the best prices can be found online. I’ve seen slip on sneakers selling for less than $30, though the ones made by Burberry and others will sell for a lot more. Whatever the case may be, you should have no problem finding a great pair of slip on sneakers.

Popular Halloween Ideas in 2009

Nov 20th, 2009 Posted in style | no comment »

Halloween is coming up. Have you gotten your costume yet? If you haven’t, you’re not alone. In fact, most people wait until there are a few days left before the actual holiday, fighting through the long lines to find a costume at the last minute.

Do you really want to end up browsing through a crowded Halloween store at the very last moment, rummaging through the remains of the costumes that everyone else pushed aside? No one does, but we just as easily find ourselves in that kind of situation every year. Try to avoid this in 2009 by acting early.

If you’re still having trouble figuring out what to be this year, I’d like to offer you a few suggestions that might serve as inspiration for the costume you eventually decide to go with.

1. Michael Jackson. Not only can you be the King of Pop, but since so many are honoring the life of this mega star this year, you can choose to be Jackson from a certain era.

The great thing about a Jackson costume is the many different eras you can choose from. You can choose an earlier Michael costume, or an outfit based on his later years.

2. Barack Obama. Why not dress up as our commander in chief? What better way to get some laughs out of your friends? For the ladies, the Michelle Obama costume is a great idea.

Yet another idea is to dress up as Susan Boyle, the singing sensation who gripped the world with her unexpected talent. This is a pretty simple outfit to craft, and you’re guaranteed to get some compliments on it.

Whatever you decide to go with, I hope that you enjoy your Halloween. Good luck to you, whichever road you should choose to go down. I have no doubt that you’ll end up wearing something great.

A Review Of RC Gas Powered Exotic Cars

Jul 28th, 2009 Posted in hobbies | no comment »

Getting began with RC cars? It can surely be an electrifying hobby. If you relish exotic cars then you may wish to choose exotic RC cars. These littleer versions of exotic cars can be quite breathtaking to own and operate. When picking exotic RC cars you’ll require to uncover whether you will select RC gas powered exotic cars, nitro cars or electric cars. There are numerous advantages to all 3 sorts of RC cars, but there are likewise some drawbacks as well.

RC gas powered exotic cars may utilise either straight gasoline or a mixture of oil and gasoline. The mixture of oil and gasoline is a good number oftimes referred to as nitro fuel. Keep in mind that a ready to run car will more often than not be more expensive than a vehicle that you put together yourself. Plus, because RC gas powered exotic cars are by and large larger to accommodate the larger engines, they’re similarly apt to be more expensive than other sorts of RC exotic cars. You will similarly need more space for storage when you choose larger cars such as RC gas powered exotic cars.

The advantage of RC gas powered exotic cars is that they by and large do not require a lot of fuel, which may make the cost of operation much less pricey. As a trade-off for that benefit; nonetheless, you should take into consideration that the top end speed for RC gas powered exotic cars is usually lower than with nitro and electric cars because they are larger and heavier.

If you need to refuel your RC gas powered car it won’t take as long as removing the body shell also as the battery fasteners so as to transmute out the batteries in an electric car. In addition, electric cars need between 15 and 45 minutes to charge, which may be a nuisance and inconvenience, particularly if you do not have a back-up battery back. Furthermore, an electric car will need to be cooled predominantly, which can similarly narrow the car’s operation time.

Clearly, there’re advantages in addition as disadvantages to electric cars, nitro cars and RC gas powered exotic cars. A gas powered car will usually grant more profits in terms of savings over the long term, if operational cost is a major consideration for you. If speed is more vital to you; nevertheless, another alternative might be a better choice for you, such as a nitro car or even an electric car.
