Get Your Hands On A New And Improved Dash

Jul 17th, 2009 Posted in technology | no comment »

T-Mobile Dash was a very popular phone when it was released. It quickly became a favorite among users. With its nice design and great list of features it was a very versatile phone. But it was far from perfect. T-Mobile hoped to satisfy its customers with fixing some of the problems with the new T-Mobile Dash 3G.

The T-Mobile Dash 3G is a simply a great looking phone. It has a top notch design. One of its most notable design upgrades is the soft finish which is found on the back of the device. The soft back makes the phone look and feel more sophisticated. The size of the phone is very reasonable and the Dash 3G will fit easily into anyones pocket and will not feel cumbersome. Two major flaws are the screens size and lackluster display. The screen is rather small and viewing websites, long messages, and even photos might require you to scroll down just to view it in its entirety. The Dash 3G has a resolution of only 320×240. Other smartphones such as Curve 8900 features a 480×320 resolution. The lower resolution is apparent when comparing the look of photos and texts to other phones. You can sometimes see the noticeable pixels. Thankfully the phone features a very easy to use trackball navigator. The trackball navigator works better than the out of date d-pad found on the Sprint Snap smartphone. Despite its compact design the Dash features a very nice full QWERTY keyboard. The keys are spaced far apart, are raised, and have a slight curve to them. The lettering and numbering of the keys is also a great addition. They are easy to read and decipher.

The phone obviously offers 3G service. This is a great addition because there hasnt been a suitable 3G phone available from Sprint. Websites, videos, songs, etc will load with great speed. This phone is a great upgrade from either the Sidekick LX 2009 or the G1. The Dash 3G also allows users to link up their email and instant messaging accounts, allowing them to instant receive email and message alerts. Another addition to the Dash is the expansive GPS services. Using TeleNav Navigation you are able to receive real time voice guided directions to your destination.

The phone features a very impressive 2 megapixel camera. It is an obvious improvement over the 1.3-megapixel camera found on the previous Dash. There are many image capturing options and presets which help you take the best looking photo possible. The phone can also record video. The video quality is decent but as expected too much movement will result in grainy video.

The T-Mobile Dash 3G is a very good phone. It enhances and improves on everything the Dash did. Its a great phone for anyone who is looking for a versatile phone packed with amazing features. But be wary of the small screen.

How Will We Communicate In The Future?

Jul 14th, 2009 Posted in internet | no comment »

“Talking to a wristwatch? That’s just really absurd!” This may just have been the prevailing mentality during the really far past when people carried radios for portable music and enjoyed computers the size of an entire room.

Also gone are the days when the infinite advances of science and technology were unpredictable. Today, even the newest gadgets released in the modern era can be obsolete in only a few years. One of the most popular gadgets today that seems to develop on a daily basis is the cellular phone. It started out like any other electronics device which is intended to call people or send them them short text messages.

From SIM free mobile phones to phones that come with high-resolution cameras, the cell phone has greatly expanded the capabilities of the mobile phone. You could say the cell phone is basically a five in one item. It contains music players, video recorders, cameras, and games. In addition to all this, you can communicate with other people with the phone as well. Despite all these many innovations, the cell phone is acquiring more upgrades. Yes, even after all this, the cell phone has not yet reached its peak technologically.

The SIM Free mobile phone is another innovation in cellular phones. Unlike your ordinary network cell phone which is tied to major telecommunications networks, the SIM Free phone is not connected to any of these major networks. Another innovation is that this 2009, a major company specializing in electronic gadgets and appliances is set to release the first cell phone wristwatch. How cool is that? With this wristwatch, you’re pretty much at par with James Bond.

The arrival of the cell phone wristwatch is clearly the first of its kind and there really is nothing like it out there on the market. According what its developers say, it contains a Bluetooth headset with built-in speakers and a touch-screen interface. There are even 3G and video-calling features.

This does sound like an amazing device. It maintains all the same capabilities found in the standard cell phone, and may contain even more features. For example, how many cell phones on the market present video-calling features?

Additionally, the company promoted it because this is a first among the major developments to come. From SIM free mobile phones to wrist watch mobile phones, the possibilities of these devices are endless. Some may even wonder what could possibly be next?

Some may wonder what are the amazing features these new phones possess that would make a consumer purchase these new phones as opposed to the conventional ones. Firstly, any consumer acquiring a SIM free phone does not have to worry about less than desirable deals with major telecommunication companies. As for the wristwatch cell phone, this is an amazing development since it is easy to use, light weight, completely mobile, and very hip.

So, naturally, for any technocrat out there, the question is, when and where will you be able to find these amazing gadgets? After all, you won’t want to be left out, right? While the SIM Free mobile phone is now out in the market, readily available from those selling cellular phones, the wristwatch cell phone is due out this August.

Reverse Phone Number Trace: Stop Anonymous Phone Calls

Jul 14th, 2009 Posted in internet | no comment »

All people have been subject to strange and unexpected phone calls and prank calls at odd times of the day and as soon as the call is attended, the phone is hung up immediately. This sometimes hinders a person’s regular routine as they keep thinking about the person who made the call.

These calls can indeed be stopped by tracking and identifying the person who makes these calls. If they called you, you deserve to know who they are in the first place, at least their name! You will have to know how to trace cell phone numbers to go about that. For further enquiry into the matter, you could employ a detective or seek help from a police officer. The name, addresses and other details of the owner of the number can easily be found, but only if you knew where to look for the data.

Free services that can trace cell phone numbers online can be found on the net. However, the main disadvantage is that the numbers that are listed in the database are limited to only landlines and business numbers. This is mainly due to the fact that mobile numbers are considered private and according to privacy laws, they may not be included in free directories that are available in the databases of the free service providers.

If a small amount of fees is paid, you can always get any business, unlisted, mobile numbers. But before you make the transaction make sure the number you’re searching for is actually listed in the database you are looking in.

A few common things in these database searches are, search box where you type in the number you’re trying to get information on. In the beginning, you get to know if the number is listed in the database, then it gives you the information of that number which includes the location of the number and finally it asks you if you want to go any further in exchange for a small amount of fees.

Information you get in exchange for the fee are: family members living along with the person, cell carrier, and of course address and name of the number’s owner, and more information which depends on the type of trace system you use for the mobile number.

Enjoy Your Cell Phone Ringback Tones

Jul 12th, 2009 Posted in technology | no comment »

Ringback tones – this is the new cellphone customization craze of the 2000’s. If you’re a cellphone user, there is little chance that you haven’t already heard of them. What I’d like to do is give you a couple of ideas about how you can have fun with ringback tones on your cell.

My favorite thing about ringback tones is probably not something that many people think of, but the majority of the ringback clips that I put on my cellphone are not music, but instead they are just plain audio clips. Well, not just any old clips – the ringback tones that I look for mostly fun clips that will make any body that calls me smile or even laugh out loud.

The best audio clips that I have found are old, some would call them retro, classic comedy routines. This is just perfect for me, and I get a lot of comments about them when I answer my call. In fact I get a lot of call backs with people wanting to hear the end of the monologues.

More often though, you will hear just a music clip when you call someone and they have installed a ringback. Although these are a little more common-place, since most people look for their newest favorite song, they can still be fun. If you are into the latest charts releases, then you’ll have no shortage of music to choose from, since the wireless carriers make sure to have the most popular current music available, since this is where the majority of people select their tones from.

Outside of the current pop-charts, if you are still more a music person than comedy or audio, there is bound to be an extensive selection you can choose your ringback tones from. Even if your musical taste is eclectic or obscure, the music libraries of cellphone carriers is quite extensive, and is updated regularly to cater to all sorts of different musical tastes.

To get the ringback tones installed on your phone, you need to go through either a call-in interface, or use the carrier’s website to select and purchase the ringback tone you want on your phone. Yes, I did say ‘purchase’, because unfortunately you can’t control your own clips, and therefore you can’t get free ringback tones. The clips are stored on the wireless company’s server, so you must go through their setup program to select and program them for your phone. Regardless of that fact, it’s just one more fun thing that I can do with my cell phone, so I can guarantee that I will continue to set up ringback tones on my cell phone.

LG Neon: A Great Little Camera Phone

Jul 9th, 2009 Posted in computer | no comment »

While top of the line smartphones may be dominating the market there is still a place for lesser equipped cell phones. Realistically everybody wont need or ever use every feature found on the iPhone or even a BlackBerry. These people need a functional cell phone at an affordable price. One such phone is the LG Neon. It is a simple phone with additional functions that is sure to please the regular consumer intimidated by the price and features of the iPhone.

Firstly the LG Neon is a good looking phone. It has a very smooth and modern design. The phone has rounded edges and no hard lines, which also make the phone very comfortable to hold in ones hand. The Neon is also very light. With its light weight and sleek design the phone fits neatly in ones pocket and doesnt feel incredibly bulky or heavy. Most noticeably the phone features a touch screen. Oddly enough though its only usage is only for dialing numbers. One would expect the touch screen to perform more tasks but anyone looking for such features will be disappointed. The full QWERTY keyboard is found underneath the slide compartment. The keyboard is not cramped at all and is very comfortable to use. One will be able to easily thumb messages. The LG Neon is also able to sync up with many messaging and email services such as AIM, AOL, Yahoo Messenger, and even Windows Live Messenger.

The camera found on the LG Neon actually takes decent photos. There are numerous settings and image option controls such as three quality settings, five white balance presets, five color effects, 4x zoom, self-timer, and three shutter tones including a silent option. There is no flash so make sure any picture you would like to take is in a well lit area. Otherwise the pictures will appear grey and foggy. Other than that the actual picture quality is pretty decent. The camera can also record video in unfortunately only two resolutions. Recording onto a Micro SD card will allow users to record longer videos.

The phone lacks any 3G or Wi-Fi support meaning downloading songs and content will take quite a while. It was so slow it took 12 minutes to download a 1MB song. The web browsing also suffers it can be very slow as well; websites take quite a while to load.

The call quality presented by the LG Neon is above average. The microphone on the Neon does an amazing job at isolating ones voice and not picking up any background noise, even in loud noise traffic areas. The speakerphone does not work as well though. Callers and even music played over it will sound very low.

The LG Neon is a decent phone for anyone who cant afford other top of the line phones. The phone offers users a great messaging system as well as a decent camera and basic web browsing. For many people this may be all they need.
