Humans have been changing their taste in clothes from probably the very beginning of the time when clothes were worn. But through out mankind’s early history there was very little change in what they wore. But there is proof that the fashion as an industry was started sometime around the middle of the 14th century.
Even though we associate fashion mostly with woman’s clothes, in this case it was a dramatic change in men’s clothing that seems to be the reason. Until the middle of the 14 century men wore loose clothing, but then around that time it changed to tighter fitting tops and leggings became a bigger fashion.
From then on changing of styles at a fairly rapid rate became mostly a European obsession and something that was only seen in Europe. The next hundred odd years or so saw continuous change in clothing and also especially in women’s hair styling. In fact paintings are used as a means by historians to study different fashions of different eras.
Even so the so called fashion of these times was mostly controlled by tailors and various other designers. But all that was about to change, when in 1858 and British gentleman by the name of Charles worth started the “haute couture” trend in Paris. This is officially seen as the genesis of the fashion world as we know it today.
As far as shiny leggings go, it was the introduction of new post war materials such as spandex and nylon that made legging manufacturing a reality. This new textile with its elasticity made such a design possible. Nowadays leggings come in all sorts of colors, sizes and styles. No matter what your style is you are sure to find one that suits you.

Leggings are a type of tight fitting clothing that is worn by both men and women. They have been known by different names through out clothing history and from its very beginning have been a favored clothing item especially in cold weather. In the 14th century they were known as hose and usually were two pieces of clothing worn separately on each leg.
In colder countries such as Russia they have been wearing leggings for a long time and continued wearing them in to modern times as an outer clothing because of its good protection against the cold. In the mid 19th century leggings were popular with Eurpean women.
We can see through ut history the wide use of leggings in different cultures, whether it was the cowboys of America who wore them as protection from long hours of horse back riding to even G.Is in war the legging has proved itself as a great protective piece of clothing. Later on it was in the 1960′ that leggings became a fashionable items and considered “chique”
This type of legging that started in the 60’s was a modern version of the Capri and was tight and figure hugging and calve length. Those were usually made from cotton -Lycra blend and did not have shiny look to them like modern day leggings that were designed more for slender women. With arrival of the 1980’s all that changed.
With the 80,s they began experimenting with nylon and spandex material, which made leggings popular up until the mid 1990’s. After the mid 90’s they went out of style but have made a big comeback since, with all sorts of sizes, colors and styles. I looks as though leggings for women will never have to look back and will remain a mainstay of peoples wardrobe.

Backpacks are practical, usually large enough to carry a lot of books and other things and very easy to carry around. That’s why they are more commonly used as schoolbags. But for all the practicality of a backpack, girls can luckily make use of handbags when they don’t want to be heavily bent over like hunchbacks.
In making use of a handbag as a schoolbag, its size, design and the material from which it was made of are important things to note. Of course it has to be fashionable as well.
Zippers are more efficient in keeping in small and slim school materials like pens, rulers, pencils and locker keys. Books and other large objects can be easily carried around in a drawstring handbag and handbags which are sealed only with clasps. Keeping the small things inside clasp and drawstring handbags is not a good idea, unless there are inner pockets sealed with zippers. To make sure that nothing falls out of your handbag, keep them in an upright position.
If 3 textbooks can fit comfortably inside a handbag, then it may be used as a schoolbag. The books can be used to estimate if you will have enough space for other school necessities. Using a small handbag the size of a purse will not be practical enough as a schoolbag because it will hold only your cell phone and wallet. A very big handbag (a small sack?) on the other hand will certainly make you look far from fashionable. But of course the size to choose depends on the number of things you need to bring along with you.
For the material of which the handbag is made of, leather is always a good choice because it is sturdy and durable. Not to mention they are usually made in sophisticated designs. Handbags that are made of transparent plastic have also recently made their fashion debut. These are also great to use as long as the plastic is thick and the seams are securely sewed together. Denim handbags are already commonly used as schoolbags. They are usually made in different hues of black, blue and white. They are not very flashy and striking and will easily fit in a casual school setup. Handbags made of cotton cloth can also be useful. Just make sure that you don’t set them on wet surfaces because the things inside might be soaked as well.
What is important to remember in selecting a handbag for school is that practicality should equal your fashion requirement. Do not just choose a handbag for its color and design. Think about the things that you will have to put in your bag and if it will be sturdy enough to hold all of them.
Remember that being fashionable will indeed make you stand out but if you’re bag falls apart in the middle of the school grounds, you will most definitely be in the spotlight as well, but not in a graceful way. So when you choose a handbag for school, choose a sturdy and stylish handbag.
