Car Insurance Tips For Saving A Lot Of Cash

Aug 5th, 2009 Posted in insurance | no comment »

With only a handful of car insurance strategies, you could be on your way to saving money on your premiums. Many individuals complain about the price of their car insurance, but the fact of the matter is, many of these insured drivers aren’t receiving the whole benefits of their policies. If you know what your insurance company offers, you can reap the maximum benefits.

The quickest way to reduce your payment is to make sure you are getting every discount you can qualify for. After all, why pay full price for a product when you don’t have to? Car insurance works the same way.

There are different types of obtainable discounts. A good student who can show a promising report card can get a discount. A police officer or nurse or other professionals can avail of discounts because of their alliances. Further, a person who insures his house and car in the same policy may qualify for a discount.

Next, you may want to consider dropping your coverage. Now before you throw these car insurance tips out the window, think about it this way. If your vehicle is over fifteen years old and you have collision insurance on it, you may as well be burning your money.

When you get in an accident, your car will be considered a complete loss. Rather than purchasing collision for an older car, simply discontinue this particular coverage since you don’t need it. Go ahead and evaluate all your vehicles’ coverages to make sure you aren’t over insuring them.

Another great way to lower your premium is to pay off your entire bill when you get it, rather than pay it monthly. While it may feel convenient to pay the bill this way, it is actually going to cost you more. If you pay a higher amount up front, you’ll reduce your bill and end up paying less in the long run.

Now it’s clear, all you have to do to save money on your insurance is invest a little bit of your time to make sure you are benefiting from all the discounts available. Be selective in paying your coverage and pay your complete bill when you get it to avoid extra fees. With these car insurance tips, you can save a lot of money throughout the years.

Looking For A Quick Way To Make Some Money – Consider A Yard Sale

Jul 29th, 2009 Posted in parenting | no comment »

Are you deciding to hold a yard sale this summer? Well there are a few things that you need to keep in mind before you decide to go ahead with holding such a sale. It is always a good idea to ask the permission of your neighbor. I know at the end of the day it is your own yard, but sometimes neighbors can complain about the crowd yard sales can attract.

If you want to make sure you have no problems with your neighbors what so ever, it is a good idea to get them involved in the yard sales as well. You never know, they may want to get rid of something as well that is lying around their house.

Make sure you make adequate space on your yard before bringing the stuff out for the yard sale. It is a good idea to get a few long tables that can hold quite a lot of stuff.

Don’t get too caught up in the presentation as after all it is only a yard sale and people expect things to be sloppy; one mistake that many people fall into when holding a yard sale is accidentally putting in an item that they did not want to sell. Make sure you check everything thoroughly before putting it out for the yard sale.

All of these tips and more can be found in eBooks all over the web. The one book I recommend and use my self when planning a yard sale is called One Man’s Junk Another Man’s Treasure- the in’s and out’s of garage sales.

This eBook is only a few dollars but tells you everything there is to know about garage sales or yard sales even down to the laws on having them. I used this book in planning my sale and made well over $600 in one day; not to mention cleaned a lot of clutter out my house!

A Review Of HO Model Trains

Jul 28th, 2009 Posted in sports | no comment »

Model trains have been around for nearly as long as real trains have. They have been designed and manufactured by companies from distinct parts of the world, with very various specifications. This is peculiarly true for models built in the first decades of the last century.

As time passed by, scales and standards were established between companies that made model trains and accessories for them. Companies who started working with other companies had to establish standards so as to make products and accessories that were compatible.

On the other hand, the shop and the customers discovered that they liked some trains excellent than others, and so the specifications that were preferred stayed, and those that weren’t tended to disappear.

Scales are one of the most common standards that are utilised for model trains. A scale is a measure of the relationship of dimensions of a model train compared to a actual train. It’s measured in ratios. A ratio consists of two numbers separated by a colon. The first number is Always one, while the 2nd number represents how much of a given measurement corresponds to real dimensions.

For instance, a scale of 1:40 means that if something measures one inch on a model train, it will measure 40 inches on a real train

The most common scale employd in English speaking countries is the HO scale. HO model trains employ this scale to keep their proportions equal to the proportions of the trains they are representing.

Although the nomenclature is HO model trains, in the United States of America, Japan and Australia, the rest of the countries know it as H0 model trains, with the letter O replaced by the number zero. Both nomenclatures HO model trains and H0 model trains pronounce the letter O or the zero as oh.

HO model trains employ a scale of 1:87, which makes then one of the littleest model trains in the marketplace . In fact the term HO model trains, comes from the fact that they are almost twice as little as the O scale, which is 1:43. Therefore, they were called Half model trains, or HO model trains for short.

HO model trains are so known that there’re literally thousands of models made with distinct materials. Prices can be as cheap as fifty or a hundred dollars or they may range up to thousands of dollars, depending on quality, materials, and level of assembly needed. Their popularity likewise means that its relatively effortless to buy HO model trains accessories and tracks.

All in all, HO model trains are a very good choice for taking up model railroading. They may be inpricey, easy to get and with a good balance between detail and size.

Sell Car’s Fast on Craigslist

Jul 24th, 2009 Posted in automotive | no comment »

Do you think in the near future you will see the number of used car lots you see today? What about the classified ads in the newspapers all across the country? Or even the paper sales magazines for cars? Maybe so, but used car classifieds are becoming the fastest growing way to sell my used car and yours. Craigslist is the most comprehensive and popular used car classified service in the world. It is in over 9 countries and 450 cities and growing every day. Of course with growth and popularity come crooks and scammers.

TELL THE TRUTH PEOPLE! Was that loud enough? I am so tired of finding out the facts in a round about treasure hunt. The more honest you can be the less likely others will believe you are ripping them off.

Look I sold my dad’s Miata because I said he was going blind can’t hear and keeps hitting the curbs, i.e. the lower body damage. When you submit pictures show the good with the bad and price it accordingly. If you are trying to convince me to spend thousands of dollars of my hard earned cash on your toy you better stand out and tell me what I am going to inherit. I will find out you tried to cover up the spoiled baby formula that spilled under the driver’s seat and could stalk you later for selling me it.

Pictures are so vitally important here. If you are serious on how to sell your car on Craigslist or any online classified the Photo’s are as important as anything you can do. I have spent hundreds of hours on used car classifieds and will not give a car a second thought if the pictures do sell the car alone. If they are to out of focus or to distant I think you are hiding something and don’t care. That tells me you don’t care for your car either.

The sole purpose of used car classifieds is to sell what buyers are looking for, not for wasting time driving around town dealing with pushy salespeople. You also must do the proper research to move your car quickly. There are several free online valuation services that will give you the current market value. KBB.com is my favorite lately because it has proven to me at least to be more accurate, this can change anytime though. I will be blunt; you are not likely to get more than Private Party Good Value for your car unless it is in high demand. Buyers are online looking at values within seconds of looking at your car.

I’m always honest and I add little touches like, “rough on freeways but dreamy off road!” “Hey its a Jeep not a Bentley”. One must’nt be afraid to be slightly humorous or used-car-sales-man-esque. After all, the objective is to make money and get your car in front of thousands of eyeballs.

Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold As Is and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle’s actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.

I told a client that wanted me to sell his car that had a limited buyer pool that the value will be unknown due to the collectability or not of his special car. He wanted $9,000 which is what KBB.com said it was worth; however after 4 weeks of ads and a top offer of $7,000 I told him that would unfortunately be the actual value. He chose not to sell. The truth can be painful at times.

Keywords are often overlooked in your ad. I’ve searched for a Mercedes 560 SEL and got a Mercury Sable back in the search. That guy obviously doesn’t know how to use keywords properly. Do you think if I am looking for a MB I want a Mercury? Also please, if you are willing to negotiate price the use of OBO is appropriate, otherwise you really shouldn’t put “Or Best Offer” in the ad. This is so common, it would be more appropriate to say Firm in the ad. Good luck selling.

Amazing Milestones in the Artificial Diamond Technology

Jul 24th, 2009 Posted in jewelry | no comment »

From the dawn of time, mankind has been fascinated by precious stones and gems. The most precious of all gems far surpassing the beauty, elegance, hardness and timelessness is the diamond. Natural diamonds have been created by geological pressure from the bowels of the earth 1 billion to 3 billion years ago. The diamond’s basic component is the carbon dioxide buried 100 miles deep into the earth, heated to more than 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, under gravitational pressure of 725,000 pounds concentrated in one square inch and quickly elevated cooled to the Earth’s surface. This whole process takes 1-3 billion years in the making. As such the diamond is most revered and treasured above all gems. It is a symbol of passion and love at its highest as it bespeaks of the timelessness and beauty of creation.

Yet the human being, in an equally amazing feat, was able to discover the secrets of diamond making, circumventing billions of years in able to create the first man-made diamonds in just a few days! The time has arrived for the new era of man-made diamonds. Yet from the time when the first artificial diamond was created, new unbelievable breakthroughs have been made.

The Homo sapiens sapiens is also a product of billions of years of biological evolution. In an amazing twist of fate, the human being became co-creator-a species who can literally transform the world through his intelligence and labour. This newcomer in biological evolution has now become the master of the earth. He has developed his intelligence to such a high pitch that the human can now simulate the action of creation and can now create artificial diamonds in just a matter of days. But the process did not come through overnight. It took decades of painstaking scientific research and experimentation before we can come up with an almost perfect replica of natural diamonds.

The first synthetic diamonds simulated is the natural process by which carbon dioxide was subjected to intense pressure and heat. This is what we call high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) technology wherein a machine squeezes on carbon dioxide while intense electricity was applied. After only a few days of this process, the first gem-like quality man-made diamond was created. This invention literally kicked off a new era of commercially produced diamonds. These diamonds are a lot cheaper and can actually imitate the beauty and elegance of natural diamonds. On closer inspection however, these diamonds are not as clear and pure as the real ones.

Crude Methods:In the beginning the first artificial diamonds were created using crude processes imitating the action of the earth on carbon dioxide. Using a High Pressure High Heat Technology, carbon dioxide was subjected to a simulated process of gravitational pressure and intense heat using electricity. Crude as it was, this method was able to make the first breakthrough in commercial diamond production. Man has conquered the billions of years of natural processes in a matter of days of high technology applications. This ushered in a new age in commercial diamond production.

Gemstone Composite Technology. This technology is one that is really mind blowing. Scientists have discovered that there is a molecular attraction between the diamond and the sapphire crystals. In a special High-Temperature High-Pressure fusion technology wherein a complex process called FCVA-Ion Jet Beam-Diamond Seeding, a new hybrid diamond is created. This hybrid diamond is called the New Star Hybrid diamond which is harder than moissante. This is now the closest replica of natural diamonds that technology has so far reached. The New Star Hybrid diamond displays all the characteristics of real diamonds in terms of optimal beauty, physical hardness, and molecular organization.

Now new researches have ushered in a new era of coloured diamonds. Simulating the colours of nature, for the first time, man-made diamonds now come in different colours. The New Star Hybrid simulated diamonds can come in shades of poignant blue, lovely pink, sparkling yellow, respectable purple, elegant gold and other shades.

Another mindboggling breakthrough in this field is the coming up of coloured diamonds. Now you can choose different hues and shades of diamonds that even Mother Nature was not able to accomplish in billions of years.
