Reviews Of Christmas Holiday Decor
How does earning a full years pay in only three months sound to you? It sounded good to me. That is why I started my own holiday lights business a few years back. It is not a taxing job and you do not need big bucks to get your company up and running.
Being made unemployed can be tough and, after two months of job searching without success, I realized I had to find something soon. I spoke to a friend and he told me how he runs a successful landscaping firm in the summer and changes over to fitting Christmas lights come winter. With his guidance still fresh in my mind, I opted to also start up a festive lights service.
You should always start early, even on November 1, when promoting your company by delivering high quality, full color flyers to the public. If you dont know how to produce a flyer, get a graphic designer on board to help out. Believe me, its worth it to bring in more customers. If you have the time, aim to hand out 1000 flyers or pay the post office to distribute them for you if you can afford the expense. This should be your final major outlay, though, with the money hopefully soon rolling in from customers.
With your flyers distributed, be prepared for a burst of activity when you begin arranging meetings after phone calls from potential clients. The aim is to collect as much information as possible at these meetings, which should last about two hours, and to settle on a price for the job. Always make copious notes and sketches to give clients confidence in you.
To make certain of their custom and to help buy supplies for the job, get between 30% and 50% of the total cost up front. You should always offer to collect extra lights they might require for a display as this allows you to augment your profits by adding on up to 10% for your time. Call it a Christmas bonus for yourself!
That is the hard work done. Now you just have to put up and then take down the lights. That is no tough task. However, if your flyer campaign has gone well, you may have secured numerous customers. If so, hire a few extra bodies to assist you. Pay the extra staff good wages. They will work best in teams of three.
Get on the phone soon after your jobs are completed to gain feedback. A happy client will return to you next Christmas, meaning less effort and cost on your part searching for new customers. There is no reason why you cannot be earning six figures within a few years if you supply a superior service.
I began this holiday lights business just two years ago and last year earned a massive $96,000. If you follow this plan, you, too, can work maybe three months and relax the rest of the year. It is what I do.
