Using The Question Mark Question In Closing Sales

Sep 7th, 2010 Posted in business | no comment »

This is article 10 in my 20-article series regarding closing sales and becoming an extraordinary sales person.

This article is the last of our discussion regarding asking questions. In the previous articles we talked about open-ended, closed-ended questions, and I’m wondering. Today we’re going to review the question mark question. You use the question mark question to guide the other person to go more deeply into a comment that he just made. You repeat the key phrase as a question by adding a questioning tone to your voice.

Repeat the key phrase? Yes. That is an example. You draw attention to what you want to know simply by using a questioning tone of voice. It is especially well used when your prospect says something that relates to a problem, a need or a solution that you are capable of providing.

Let’s look at another example. If, for example, your prospect says “I have no need for a financial adviser. I handle it myself.” Let’s pretend that you suspect there may be a problem or a need because your prospect is doing it by himself. You may then respond, “Handle it yourself?” Your tone encourages him to elaborate upon what he just said. This, in turn, allows you to ask, “Do you know how much time it takes you to do all the research necessary to manage your financial affairs? Your last question opens the door to finding some reasons why your prospect should listen some more.

The major use of question mark questions is drawing attention to what you want to discuss in greater detail. These are primarily potential problems, needs and solutions. It is especially effective when you are speaking to someone who has a tendency to ramble. This tool helps you focus his attention on the important things.

This fourth questioning technique allows you to ask questions that help you delve deeper into your prospect’s mindset. When you use this principle professionally or personally you will have better conversations with everyone you know.

Secrets Of Shareware Millionaires

Sep 7th, 2010 Posted in computer | no comment »

If you were to look up some shareware called Spyware Doctor 3.2 on www.Tucows.com you’ll see that about half a million users download a free copy every week. Want more fireworks? OK, go to www.download.com and you’ll see that another shareware title called AVG AntiVirus Free Edition was downloaded about 1,126,408 times when I last checked. These huge download numbers hover close to this figure every week!

Many shareware titles never hit these big download numbers but what if you had a title that got downloaded just 100,000 times every week. Could you make some money with it?

What do shareware developers know that most people don’t? Here are some ideas: 1. To achieve big download numbers try to develop an application that has mass market appeal. However, even niche market applications can do very well.

Second, you need to spend the money and time to create a product that out-performs everything else out there regardless of the cost. Most good shareware creates a “buzz” in the Internet community. People love passing on a good deal and if you can tell a friend about a five star rated program that is not only rated the best but is free to download you will have earned a whole pile of brownie points with your friends!

The good news is that shareware is a digital product. There are no delivery or manufacturing costs once bandwidth issues are handled. It costs you little or nothing to get your title into the hands of millions of users. Consider this an enormous source of free advertising.

With over ten million people having downloaded Spyware Doctor so far you can see that the traffic to a site like www.Download.com is enormous putting their Alexa traffic ranking around 89. Post your shareware to similar shareware sites to have a chance of having your title downloaded a lot.

Were you to search for free software, shareware or freeware on Google you’d no doubt see over a million sites listed. Simply by posting your shareware titles using a PAD file to numerous shareware sites you can get the benefit of free promotion.

Shareware Millions Most people are unaware of all the ways someone can make money giving away free software. Here’s some ideas Thomas Deedy told me about that might surprise you as much as it did me.

One of Tom’s favorite ways to monetize shareware is to offer support services. This is the “real” business and the shareware is just the means to feed it. Your technical person collects every possible support issue and puts them into a support database “solution tree”. Then, this tree is the way support staff troubleshoot problems.

Then, they sell support packages at $50 to $150 an hour. The developer installs the trouble-shooting menu tree software on the computers of a support staff. He hires a programmer who may be constantly working to refine and improve the software to manage the support room. He provides the support when the trouble shooting menu doesn’t have all the answers.

As users call in with support issues they are added to the trouble shooting menu that is shared by all support personnel. Once the support tree has reached this stage the overhead cost of providing support drops very low. For example, you could charge $10 per issue to users. But, since all issues may only take a minute or less to locate and deliver from the support tree this is nearly pure profit.

Believe it or not 900 numbers can be a profit source with support. The user simply picks up the phone and is charged either by the minute of a flat fee.

A more advanced approach is to professionally prepare an installation and support video with actual screen shots from the shareware. You can include a troubleshooting menu and sell the training and support package for $250 including a couple hours of live support if needed.

Now, imagine that 250,000 people have downloaded your software that’s designed for small businesses and would have cost them upwards of $2500 if something comparable was available. Let’s imagine for a second that just 2% of those 250,000 people decide not to be frustrated trying to install and use the software with the basic instructions.

That works out to 5000 orders for the video and trouble-shooting software @ $250 each or $1,250,000!

The video/support software concept makes it possible to automate your support business. This work can be outsourced to save you time and aggravation.

Then, go to http://www.elance.com or http://www.scriptlance.com or www.Vworker.com and enter your Project Proposal (no charge) to get a pile of bids from experienced programmers who want to work for you. You will be shocked at how reasonably you can get powerful software programs designed and built.

Once your shareware has been created and tested you own the rights. That means you can license the program to other companies to collect royalties on all their sales or agree that you will provide support services and keep 100% of the revenues from support.

This may be America’s easiest way to become a multimillionaire and you don’t even have to be a programmer to do it!

While you can make money providing support many simpler program make money in other ways.

Try it before you buy it shareware puts the software into the hands of the user risk-free. If they like it they can donate or pay an upgrade fee to get a full-functioning version of the shareware. Many such programs install a donate or upgrade button right in the software.

————————————————————————————————————————– ” Please support my efforts to provide users with support and improve this software with a small donation. In return, you’ll receive a link to an extensive tutorial, help files and you’ll be advised when you can download the latest updated version of XYZ software. You’ll receive lifetime updates all for your small contribution of $10 or more.” ————————————————————————————————————————–

You can leave the amount of the donation up to the user but I recommend putting in three contribution levels: A $5 donate button, a $10 donate button and a $25 button that offers bonus software valued at hundreds of dollars at that level.

Every time a user donates or purchases the upgrade option you collect his name and email address. Ultimately, building a big opt-in list has the most value!

My Advice: Get started on this project right now but avoid creating software that has too narrow a market. You want the most universally needed application you can imagine. You want to create a title that nearly everyone on the Internet knows they need and really wants. You could look at the download numbers and identify a massively popular program and then improve upon it (if that’s possible) by making it more powerful, easier to use or with special features that no other software has.

Finally here are a few more ways to make money with free software.

1. Make your basic shareware version good but show the users what they are missing by displaying lots of powerful features that only come with the Pro Version. When they click on the upgrade link email them the unlock code to all the Pro Version features.

2. Offer other shareware to users just for subscribing. The bigger your subscriber list the more money you can make. Sell some of your more powerful titles.

3. I created a free lesson creator and reader for students. Then, I set it up so that teachers could purchase a much more powerful lesson creator which would enable them to create Advanced Lessons that they can sell on my site. I share the revenue from these Advanced Lessons. See www.Tutorbug.com

Yes, some of these ideas will take effort and cash to set up. But, I believe this may be one of the most realistic ways an ordinary person can become a millionaire almost overnight.

Before you spend your hard eanred money creating killer software titles consider becoming a shareware distributor to earn a fee on every paid upgrade. Click on SHAREWARE DISTRIBUTOR for complete details.

You Never Want Waste In Your Business

Sep 7th, 2010 Posted in business | no comment »

The greatest enemy of the management of your company is waste. Waste can take many forms and come in all shapes and sizes. Debris that can be found in almost any business, no matter how big or small. The aim is to keep looking and improving every time the opportunity arises. You can not be happy with good enough and must always be ready to seek new ideas and new thought processes.

This is why it is so important to everyone involved in the process. Anybody in business can have an idea or a thought that nobody else has thought. If you have any ideas from different angles and from different angles, you have a better chance of finding a solution that would not have been considered in the past.

For example, if you have a problem to be solved, and give you four different people the opportunity to try to solve the problem, most likely you will get four different solutions. But if you take these four people and setting a team to investigate the problem and find a solution for that, you get the best ideas from each, and a combined solution completely different. Having a team to solve any problem can often lead to different solutions due to different viewpoints and perspectives.

It is also important that the people of his team from different parts of the process. If you are looking to improve a manufacturing process, then you need to get in shape team members from different parts of the process. Team members need to upstream, which are those that are directly affected and members of the downstream equipment, which are those that directly affect them.

This way, every point of view during the process is represented. You also need different members to come from different areas of the management pool. You need upper management to be involved, middle management and people from the floor to be involved.

The idea behind this is to get new prospects for the entire spectrum of the process. When you get everyone involved, you are more likely to have different ideas and points of view. Looking To Buy An Electric Log Splitter? Here Are Some Tips

Sep 7th, 2010 Posted in family | no comment »

Everybody wants the best for their money, and this is especially true for wood craftsmen. Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced professional, you want to make the most out of your hard-earned bucks. Even if you’re on a budget, there are numerous things to look for when it comes to an electric log splitter. Continue reading and find out what you can to do to make your next purchase a great one!

You may not know what an electric log splitter is. That’s okay; many people don’t! The sad truth is that while so many people don’t know about splitters, just as many people can benefit from having one in their backyard. In a nutshell, a log splitter is a tool that uses electricity to break wood logs down to smaller size. This may seem like a mundane purpose, but what you choose to use that wood for is nearly unlimited. Whether you’re a wood sculptor or a man that simply wants to keep his family warm on a budget, a splitter has a place in your home.

There are several key elements to look for when purchasing a log splitter. What you want to examine first though is the warranty. A good warranty is the difference between a returnable item and a dud in the shed. While log splitters aren’t built to fall apart, there are considerations that must be made to the nature of the job they’re meant to perform. Basically, a warranty will give you peace of mind when you put a serious tool such as a machine that breaks down heavy wood to the test over time.

Of course, a warranty by itself is simply insurance, and chances are you’ll want to keep it that way. That’s why it’s important to check the quality of the parts.

If your machine can’t cut the wood, then it’ll only be a nuisance at best and a hazard at worst, so understand the sharpness and strength of the unit. Stainless steel and wire insulation go a long way towards preserving the machine against the terror of the elements, which is essential to making the most of your investment.

A great way to figure out if a tool is right for you is to understand the return policy. This ensures that you don’t get stuck with a machine that just isn’t suited for you. But you never know; a first purchase is often the right one.

Of course, a tool is only as good as the work you put it to, so make certain it is equipped to handle the task. The opposite holds true as well: if you’re going to do a small amount of log splitting, you probably don’t need to invest in an industrial-strength cutter of epic size and power. It’s all a matter of knowing your needs and applying a little perspective.

Well, that’s splitters in a nutshell. With what I shared with you today, it’s my hope that you make your purchase a wise and sound investment in something that will serve you very well.

If you’re looking for high quality log splitter, then why don’t you check out electric log splitter that can provide you what you need! You can also check out electric wood splitter while you’re at it.

Providing The Landscaping Design For The Pool

Sep 7th, 2010 Posted in family | no comment »

Planning a backyard pool landscaping design can be much easier if the person follows a few simple tips to make the planning a success. Planning a backyard pool landscaping design should take many different things into consideration, such as the room that the pool will take up in the backyard and the types of plants that the person prefers. A few simple tips for planning a backyard pool landscaping design will allow the person to plan a backyard landscaping plan that will be beautiful and easy to maintain as well.

The Location Of The Pool

When planning the backyard pool landscaping, it is important to choose the location of the pool carefully to get the most open space that you can in the backyard. Only having a small amount of space to maneuver around the backyard will dramatically decrease the homeowner’s enjoyment from the backyard. Pools that are placed near the home result leaving a great deal of open space further out in the yard where the person can hold a barbeque or where children can play. The types of plants that are chosen for placement in the backyard can attract different types of birds, butterflies, and insects which can add some untouched nature to the areas of the backyard that are farther away from the home that can be seen from the pool or the deck surrounding the pool..

The Plants In The Backyard

When planning backyard pool landscaping, the homeowner should choose the placement of the plants in the backyard very carefully. The plants in the backyard should not be placed near larger trees or bushes that will take all of the nutrients out of the soil and should be placed in areas that receives ample sunlight to allow the plants to grow properly. If the person would like to place some plants in the shaded areas of their backyard pool landscaping plan, they should make sure that the plants that are chosen can flourish in areas that do not get direct sunlight or they will be wasting their money on plants that will die very quickly in the area that they would like to place them in.

There are many different types of plants that can be used for backyard pool landscaping, but most people tend to choose the ones that are easy to take care of. By choosing plants that are easy to maintain, the person decreases the time that is needed for maintaining the backyard. People that choose a backyard pool landscaping design that has plants that are difficult to care for will quickly become irritated with the amount of care required and will end up letting the plants die. Different types of plants have different needs and certain plants will not grow well when placed near other plants. When planning a backyard pool landscaping design, it is important to research the needs of each type of plants and make sure that they will survive in the area.
