Packers Thump Hapless Rams

Jul 31st, 2010 Posted in hobbies | no comment »

Now that the Detroit Lions have ended their losing streak, the St. Louis Rams are officially the worst team in the NFL. The Rams extended their losing streak–now the NFL’s longest–to 13 games on Sunday with a 36-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers on their home field at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. The Packers Aaron Rodgers threw for 269 and two touchdowns and rushed for a third as Green Bay pulled away in the second half. The victory snapped a five game road losing streak for Green Bay and improved their 2009 NFL regular season record to 2-1.

Green Bay easily covered as a 6 road favorite, in the process earning their second pointspread cover in three NFL regular season games this year. The Rams dropped to 1-2 against the spread. The 53 combined points scored went OVER the posted total of 42. It was the Rams first OVER in three games this season, while Green Bay went OVER for the second time.

Rogers had been sacked a league high ten times in his first two games, but only went down twice in the victory over the Rams. Afterwards, he praised his offensive line for giving him the time he needed to complete big plays:

“They really gave me some time. I was able to move in the pocket.”

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo blamed the loss on the lack of big plays generated by his defense:

“It’s the big plays on defense that kill you and the turnovers — we didn’t get any takeaways.”

Packers coach Mike McCarthy, meanwhile, praised the big play ability of his offense in earning the victory:

“Big plays equal points in this league. We say it every week. It was evident today. We have the ability to play that way.”

Green Bay quarterback Rodgers continued to explain the teams big play ability, suggesting that much of it stemmed from the Rams single coverage of Greg Jennings and Donald Driver:

“If they are in press coverage on Driver and Jennings, we’re going to take our shots. I was able to put the ball in the spot.”

The Rams will look to end their ending streak next weekend, but wont receive any help from the schedule maker as they travel cross country to play the improving San Francisco 49ers. Theyll return home the following Sunday to play the Minnesota Vikings before taking to the road again, traveling to Florida to play the Jacksonville Jaguars. Green Bay will head to Minnesota for a Monday Night game against the Vikings next week. Theyll then enjoy a bye week before hosting the Detroit Lions on October 18th.

Viewing A Massage Chair In The Shopping Center

Jul 31st, 2010 Posted in shopping | no comment »

Have you ever tried a massage chair? Maybe you have seen them at a car wash, airport or mall? You usually see people in a fully recline position with a big smile on their face. There body tends to be moving about as the massage penetrates and soothes their tight muscles. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, there is no line. That may be your only chance to take a seat and see what a massage chair is all about.

If you have been walking around the mall for a while, then sitting in the massage chair will be a welcome relief. It should be comfortable to sit in. It should feel plush and sit around and support your body well.

Now you want to find the remote control of the massage chair. It is usually located in a cradle which is attached to the side of the massage chair. The remote will normally have an LCD screen and many function buttons. Find an automatic massage program and select that to begin your relaxation.

When you first sit down, get yourself comfortable. Use the chair back recline button. Recline the chair back to a comfortable position. Next, raise the leg rest so that your legs are comfortable as well. Now you are ready to begin your massage.

I let the massage chair work me over. I am squirming left and right as the massage starts to work its magic on my body. I fight the massage chair a little bit at first. I tense up which defeats the whole purpose of the massage. Now, I relax and let it start to relieve the tension.

Sometimes, when you first start getting a massage, you will notice that you tense up. You may be a little sensitive when different parts of your body are touched. This is a normal reaction until you can begin to relax.

I let the massage chair continue to work me over. The automatic program feels pretty good it sitting most of the major areas. It provides pretty good coverage and is soothing my entire body. I didn’t realize how much I really needed this.

I notice as the massage rollers go up to my shoulder area that I start to flinch. I have a particular area that seems to be more tense than others. Every time the roller passes their, I squirm away from it. I become conscious of this and now I want the massage chair to relieve it.

I look back up to the remote control and look at the manual massage techniques. I think I’ll try a kneading massage. The kneading massage begins but it is going all the way up and down my back. I find an icon on the remote control showing the upper back. I push this button. The rollers now concentrate just in my shoulder area.

I now try to better pinpoint the massage on one of my trouble spots. This area is tight. I flinched each time the massage rollers pass. I know I need relief. I change to a manual technique and select kneading. I use the up arrows until I place the roller right over my trouble spot. I fight at first, but the massage chair wins and I win with it.

If you did not in your shoulder then try locating the massage rollers exactly on the spot of tension. Use a slow kneading massage to gently penetrate that area. You will feel the tightness of the muscle which may cause slight discomfort. Let the roller stretch the tight muscle until it is fully relieved.

I open my eyes and I see a lot of people watching me and waiting their turn for the massage chair. I must have given them a good show because they were all smiling and snickering. But, I am the one with the biggest smile from the effective massage of this wonderful massage chair.

A Short Look To The Causes Of Depression In People’s Minds

Jul 31st, 2010 Posted in health | no comment »

What do you think of yourself? If you are unsure, look into a mirror. Are you happy with the person that you see? Do you like this person, very much? If not, you may have a number of reasons. Here are some causes of low self esteem to explore.

Appearance

Appearance matters a great deal to everyone. You want to look your best around others. Perhaps you have slight abnormalities. Everyone does. You may be overweight. Perhaps your nose is slightly larger than normal. No matter what is wrong, people may tease you about it.

This problem often starts in childhood. Children will tease others to draw attention away from themselves. They feel insecure, and it makes them feel better to look superior to someone else. This is why some children make fun of the mentally retarded. They want to feel smart or intelligent.

Sibling rivalry

Brothers and sisters are notorious for teasing each other. This is because they are in the same household. They are competing for the admiration of the same parental figures. Perhaps someone is an only child for several years. When a little brother or sister comes along, there can be resentment. Babies need a lot of care and attention. The child may think that the parents love the sibling more.

Favoritism with parents

If you pay more attention to one child than the others, it is favoritism. Children see this as a huge injustice. They feel there must be reasons for this. Rather than blame you, they may blame themselves. This can severely damage young egos. This is why favoritism has to be avoided.

Grandparent favoritism

This problem may be more widespread with grandparents. They have already raised their children. They do not feel subjected to any type of parental rules. Suppose one grandchild gets better gifts and more attention, than the others. This is telling the other grandchildren, that they do not matter. They may feel unloved and unworthy.

Bullying

Bullying has always been a problem in schools. Often times a bully will want to feel superior to others. The only way they can do that, is through intimidation and threats. This can destroy self-images and childhood dreams. Talk to your children about bullying. Make sure that you are there for them.

Final thoughts

There are many causes of low self esteem. Appearance plays a major role. How a child is raised, may be just as important. Never favor one child over another. This can destroy their self-image. Talk to your kids as much as you can. Find out if someone is bullying them.

It is important to be supportive at this time of their lives. A support group will help dealing with the serious challenge of losing weight and getting in shape. In order to truly understand their way of thinking, you have to look to the past and current situations of their life. causes of low self esteem

S1 Lawyers – How To Spot The Ones That Will Make Your Nightmares Come True

Jul 31st, 2010 Posted in law | no comment »

I deal with S1 attorneys all day every day and most of them are entrepreneurial, hard working and interested in helping you in any way they can but there are also a lot of bad ones out there. If you are taking your company public the last thing you want is a broke as a joke s1 filing agent.

I recently had the misfortune of working with (for a very short time I might add) a New Jersey lawyer who had us all convinced by her pepper gray hair and fluency of legal jargon as a second language and quick calls to what she had us convinced where big shot investors who had millions to put into this and other transactions we brought her way.

During initial negotiations she and I sat down in a coffee shop and went over her equity position and fees in the transactions that she’d be working on for us and it was pretty simple and straight forward. I would have my team organize and structure the company and transaction and she would simply file the s1 in exchange for 2% to 3% equity. Pretty nice payday for minimal work and gaining equity in an average company producing $5m+ per year.

Ah yes, but when it sounds too good to be true it is and when it seems too easy of a negotiation…it is! When she sent us the contract she felt the need to add a few percentage points to the tune of 7%, making a total of 10% equity and she also was charging an extra $10k to fill in the blanks on your prototypical PPM doc. Why did she jack up the price? Her response was, “This S1 will have comments”. I almost died laughing. Of course it’s going to have comments with the SEC, that’s why it’s called the ‘comments’ stage.

We talked her into taking 2 payments for the $10k, half upfront and half on completion but we really should have dumped her right there. She didn’t want to keep her word on that either so I paid her the last payment before the fee was due and just got rid of her.

Turns out she never filed an s1 before and her whole act was a sham. She was desperate for cash and nickled and dimed us the whole time. I laugh about it now but it wasn’t funny when it happened. We lost over a month of transaction time because she couldn’t tell the truth.

The client was going public on the OTCBB with a valuation of around $5m, her suggestion was to raise capital pre public for $1 per share because the company would have a hard time qualifying for the NASDAQ if it started at anything less than $1. This company was years away from even considering the NASDAQ as an option but her in experience and need to prolong the deal to rape us for fees was so blatant and careless that she did everything she could to add as much confusion to the deal as possible so that no one knew what was going on, therefore she got away with a lot and was able to pick our pockets for weeks before we got rid of her.

The moral of the story is this: not all attorneys are rich. The truth is, most are very modest as far as their earnings. There is too much competition these days so there are predatory lawyers out there that will lie, double talk, triple talk and run you around in circles. All the while the clock is ticking and they are billing you like it’s going out of style. Watch your back with the dead broke S1 lawyer.

A Mission To Change Childrens Lives By A Woman

Jul 30th, 2010 Posted in business | no comment »

Dorothy Samson was a native Colorado who knew the minute she saw children in need that she could make a difference.

Later, when she learned that there was a need for sponsors for African children, she didn’t hesitate to take on even more.

So started a journey that led her to Compassion International and its unique child sponsorship program. Now, after just five years working with the ministry, 25 children count on Samson for prayers, letters and support.

Later, when she learned that there was a need for sponsors for African children, she didn’t hesitate to take on even more.

So started a journey that led her to Compassion International and its unique child sponsorship program. Now, after just five years working with the ministry, 25 children count on Samson for prayers, letters and support.

Responding to the need, Samson sponsored 12 African children – eight of them in Uganda. And in September 2002, she spent five special days with my youngsters, as she refers to them. She treated her children to a game park, a safari and a boat ride to see hippos.

Of course, the kids were so excited. They’d never seen animals in the wild or even taken a boat ride. It was wonderful to see their excitement,Samson said.

Since she’s returned from Africa, Samson has had several opportunities to share her experience and tell others about her precious Ugandan children, several of whom have already had to deal with the devastating effects of HIV/AIDS, having lost parents, siblings and other close relatives to the disease.

I don’t know if any of my children have the disease,Samson said.I pray that they do not. But it would never change how I feel about them. I love them as my own children. My hope for them is that they can have a happy childhood and become all they can be in Jesus – free from AIDS.

When Compassion International opened its first projects in Uganda in 1980, the scourge of HIV/AIDS had not yet affected the world. Little did anyone know that only a few years later, many of the children Compassion serves in Uganda would battle the effects of this deadly, incurable disease. Compassion International currently ministers to more than 164,000 children in five countries in East Africa.
