Biometrics is a method of recognizing people using intrinsic behavior or physical traits. It is quickly being incorporated into the field of security as a way to authenticate the identity of computer users and as replacement for passwords, numerical codes, and security tokens. Instead biometric locks use technology such as retina and iris scanning, fingerprint scanning and voice print identification. When a high level of security is required, the Biolock 333 SN-BK Biometric Door Lock is one possibility worth considering. Like other devices it has both its advantages and its drawbacks.
Biolock makes many claims about the Biolock 333 SN-BK Biometric Door Lock. They state that it provides “optimum entry door security” and that it rivals systems used by the Pentagon. They refer to it as an “innovative” device for preventing unwanted access to your home or office. Their sales pitch promotes a variety of features promising durability and ease of use. It has a die cast zinc alloy body; is programmed with a LED control panel; can be operated by remote control; and if necessary can be unlocked with a key like an ordinary lock.
The device’s memory can store up to 99 users, this will cover all of your residents, house guests, or employees.
It has three levels of access given to users based on the order the users registered their finger print with the device. The super Master is the first registered user and is responsible for adding new users to the system and may add or delete any other users. The second, and third registered users are Master Users and have the authority to add or delete users other than the Grand Master. The registered users after the Grand Master and Masters Users only have permission to open the door with their fingerprint but not the authority to add or delete other users.
Biolock’s motto is “The Future at Your Door” and they assert that fingerprints are an ideal way to control access to your home or business, claiming that fingerprints cannot be duplicated. However, this is not necessarily the case. Fingerprints can be faked with a variety of simple techniques and readily available materials such as play dough and the gelatin used to make gummy bears.
Even the best fingerprint readers don’t always work. As security expert Bruce Schneier noted in his blog, British prison officials removed a multimillion dollar security system from one of their prisons because of fingerprint reader failure. It was discovered that the inmates had found a way to pass through the system unimpeded.
Reviews for the Biolock 333 SN-BK Biometric Door Lock have been mixed. In positive reviews it is lauded as an inexpensive, easy to program, and easily installed replacement for common locks.
Complaints describe the lock as “a great concept lacking execution” and report that the Biolock 333 SN-BK Biometric Door Lock has a hard time recognizing fingerprints if the user is old, has dry fingers, or small fingers.
Complaints about the Biolock 333 SN-BK Biometric Door Lock include that it is too big to be installed on doors that have a deadbolt; that the user’s manual is badly written and confusing; that it fails at warmer temperatures than the manual claims; and that Biolock tech support is too hard to contact. Even when users managed to contact tech support the only help they received was an employee reading from the owner’s manual. Some of the positive reviews even mentioned some of these points.

First, never look evil directly in the eyes, at least, not when she is looking back at you. Let’s face it, we all want to know what our wives will look and act like fifty some odd years down the track and track is a good word here because it looks like that’s where your mother in law’s face was when the ugly train hit it at full speed. We men have all been told that if you want to see what your wife will be like, look at her mother. Fortunately, for us, life-sucking evil often skips a generation. It just cannot be possible that much evil could exist in such close proximity for long. You know this when your mother in law looks at you and you feel your knees start to buckle. A wave of sudden diarrhea twists your stomach into a knot and the sweat breaks out on your forehead until you are forced to look away. That is okay though, the battle may be lost, but the lesson was not wasted on you. Never look evil directly in the eyes.
It is said that wedding ceremonies started with the bride and her mother on one side, and the groom and his quivering father on the other but so many grooms were devoured before the “I do’s” that they brought in the best man and some groomsmen to help out. This move was countered by the mother in law with her own gang of thugs, the maid of honor, and the bridesmaids. And so began the origins of the bribes to get them to stand up and fight, which we now call the bridesmaid gifts and the maid of honor gifts, again countered by the grooms team.
A wedding is often a mission on the part of the groom to steal the bride away from her mother and this sometimes calls for covert operations. One such act of attrition that is necessary at almost every wedding is the stealing of and hiding the mother in laws broomstick. Taking away her mode of transportation greatly reduces the groom’s need for air support. The total focus can now be placed on alter operations without having to worry about the mother in law buzzing around the chapel ceiling dropping stink bombs on the grooms party.
The mother in law is not powerless, however and will have some undercover work of her own. With the dark forces on her side comes the ability to shape shift, although it does diminish her strength. Many a war has been won by the groom because the mother in law, fresh from shape shifting into a beautiful temptress at the groom’s bachelor party, is too weak to put up a sufficient fight on the wedding day. Even operating at low strength, the mother in law is a formidable foe, casting her cold feet spells and causing things to go wrong at the wedding. At my wedding, the dreaded mother in law hexed the preacher into saying her name instead of my wife’s during the ceremony, almost stealing the legality of the ritual. They are devilishly sneaky and should not be underestimated.
There is one weapon that the groom yields, however, that shifts the balance of power in his favor if he is lucky enough to have it. The only force that the evil mother in law cannot defeat in an outright face-to-face battle is true love. As long as the bride and the groom possess true love, they will conquer all.

I often wonder why people seem reluctant to smile these days. It costs nothing to smile so come on people lets start looking a bit happier. This article is all about this and about having a more positive outlook on life which will bring positive results.
I am somebody who used to always think in a negative way, I have now managed to stop this and my life has improved no end. I now like to be around positive people, as these people tend to be more successful and happier. In my opinion there are too many people who are always moaning and groaning and are seemingly depressed.
Growing up I had many things to be negative about, I had a stutter, I have a bald patch, I was overweight and am also quite short for a male at five foot four. I was one of the ones who walked around in a depressed state and I used to feel sorry for myself. Even when I write about it now, I laugh about how stupid I used to be.
I realised early into my twenties that I needed to change my approach to life. I was quite fortunate in that I had a friend at the company I worked for, who was to prove an inspiration to me. His name was Stuart, and even though this may seem cruel, Stuart did not have a lot going for him. I won’t go into details but lets just say even with the problems I felt I had, I was not jealous of him. I became quite good friends with Stuart and we would regularly have lunch together. I would meet him in the canteen at 1pm and would be waiting in my gloomy state of mind, with my gloomy face, for him to arrive. Arrive he certianly did, always with a beaming smile on his face. This always amazed me as I could never understand what he had to be happy about. We would sit down and talk whilst eating our lunch and he never had a negative word to say. When he talked, he talked with passion, about his work and interests. One day it dawned on me, if Stuart (who from what I know of him, seemingly has nothing going for him) can always be positive, happy and smiling, why can’t I?
This was the beginning of my new outlook on life. An era of being positive, appreciating what I have got and more than anything else, plenty of smiles. I now am happy with my weight, height, bald patch and am proud to say I have now overcome my stutter.

In parts one and two in this set of articles on the very basics of debt collection, I spoke about the differences between an in house collector and a third party collection agent. I let you know about the different types of ways that debt collectors will locate the debtors, and described a number of statements that the debt collector must say before they can proceed in their attempt to collect debt from you.
Debt collectors refer to these legal guidelines as a “mini Miranda.” If a debt collector does not give this information to you, he or she is violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If questioned, the debt collector is obligated to tell you her name, the name, address and fax number of her agency, and what creditor she is calling on behalf of.
If it is necessary she will go over the terms of sale with you, or credit contracts. Keep in mind that your conversation will most likely be recorded, and a good bill collector is a sneaky one. They will most likely use their listening skills to try to determine the cause of the delinquency.
Despite what you may have heard from anecdotal stories, or the sensational stories you have heard on the news, most collections agents are sympathetic people, working to make a dollar like you. Even if your bill collector is calling aggressively, it is never a good idea to ignore their calls. A debt collector will have the authority to offer a repayment plan, or some other type of help to make it easier for you to pay off of your debt.
At times, they are capable of finding solutions to your financial problems. After all, they work with people like you every day. They can even offer you some helpful advice or they might be able to refer you to some helpful debt counselors. Unfortunately, it has been said that all stereotypes have some truth in them, and there will be an occasional debt collector who may use strong arm or even illegal tactics to collect a debt. If something doesn’t sit right with you, consult the FDCPA, and call your local attorney general’s office to report the incident.

In the middle of an American economic crisis, one industry seems to be booming: the collection industry! That’s right, according to one recent study that was conducted as of late, more than fifty five percent of the collection agencies questioned plan to add to the amount of staff that they already employ this fiscal year.
Any manager going through the hiring process is aware of the time and aggravation that comes with finding the right fit for the job, especially a job like a debt collector where attention to detail and motivation are a necessity. In the collections industry, it is crucial that you hire the correct person. A collection agent who is too laid back is not going to collect; one who is too high strung might end up getting your agency sued. Hiring the wrong candidate not only leads to an unhappy new hire with the capacity to harm the credibility of the hiring manager and even the company, but it also chews up management time that it takes to train. Time and money that could have been put into training the right hire in the first place.
So how should a hiring manager go about holding job interviews to pick out the best fit? Interviewing styles differ from business to business. Typically, a majority of interviews will involve asking about a candidate’s job history. But if a candidate knows what you are looking for, and they are adept at selling you their experience, you may end up hiring the person who is not best suited for the specific job you have in mind. Therefore, the most important idea that any prospective employer should keep in mind during an interview is to get the candidate to be extremely specific. Research has shown that it is more effective to go over less material very thoroughly than to have a general sense of everywhere that the candidate has been. It is important not to simply accept their first answer as complete- probe for more details.
As far as hiring prospective debt collectors goes, behavioral questions have been proven to be useful. These are based on the idea that past actions might predict behavior in the future. When it is key that you need to be able to reasonably predict how a new hire will respond to any type of stimulus on the job because the credibility of your company is at stake, questions such as “give me an example of,” or “what are your best and worst personality traits” can be helpful. Ask the candidate how they generally handle stress. We all know they are going to be dealing with it after all.
Finally, look for new hires who feel passion about the things that they do. Try to look under the surface to determine if there is an authentic depth underneath what the candidate is claiming at the interview. Attempt to question the candidate about life goals, hobbies, spare time, etc. It might be unorthodox, but searching beyond qualifications can help you get a hold of some of the details that will give you an idea of how a candidate will approach a job and what their work habits are like.
